Wikipedia Club #5
Today Tiana, Norm, Yatu, Jake, and Grant came together in the town hall to share exciting findings.
Tiana - List of online newspaper archives
- I like how newspapers used to be like twitter...
- The Winnipeg Daily Tribune, 1890 - Where you can find personal gossip, and information about expensive drugs.
- I think it shows a lot about how people inherently want to feel connected through both exciting and more mundane information.
- Also check out List of lists of lists.
Grant - Yongle Encyclopedia
- Everything in the world is in this library.
- The first largest encyclopedia in the world.
- Also see Chinese encyclopedia.
Norm - Worldbuilding
- Constructing an imaginary world.
Jake - Lilu
- The foundation of vampire stuff.
Yatu - Earthship
- Earth shelter of natural and up-cycled materials.
- A hacky approach to sustainability - lots of educational opportunities.
Apprenticeship
- A cooperative apprenticeship. I want one for the sake of e-learning more about them. Like with architects, building earthships together.
Then we played Skribbl.io, exploring our artistic abilities. Congratulations to Jake for winning.
Wikipedia Club will be back in like, Novemberish maybe.
Thank you for all the love! It has been so nice to learn about new and familiar things with everyone. Please share any cool articles you come across in the meantime via Discord.
