Wikipedia Club #4

On this warm morning, Tiana, Marcel, Jake, and Helen gathered in the town square to share some of their Wikipedia findings.

Tiana - Dike Swarm

  • Like Earth's wrinkles; makes her feel good about aging.
  • Ancientness is fascinating, some dike swarms are billions of years old.
  • Something once chaotic with built up pressure from magma, is now very calm.
  • Tiana's favourite dike swarm

Jake - Dion McGregor

Marcel - San Francisco fog

  • Nostalgic; Marcel grew up in this area and remembers the fog fondly.
  • Fog inspires creativity - for mediums like music and visual art.
  • Nice to walk through, hard to drive through.

Helen - Snake wine

  • Growing up in Shenzhen, China, Helen finds snake wine to be nostalgic, now that she lives in Canada.
  • Snakes are widely believed to possess medicinal qualities and the wine is often advertised to cure everything from farsightedness to hair loss, as well as to increase sexual performance.
  • The culture around snake wine prioritizes using an entire animal - not wasting anything. Snake wine is a good way to use a whole animal.
